Just a few random shots we've captured lately. Josh is 7 months old now, I can't believe it! And I can't believe how much less dependent he is already.

Yesterday was the first time I found him sitting up in his crib. I've never seen him get himself into a sitting position before.

Help Us Help Other Babies!

For the 3rd year in a row, I'll be walking in the March of Dimes March for Babies. This cause is near and dear to my heart. I walk for a number of reasons. I walk to show pride and thanksgiving for Luke - my nephew who is a NICU graduate. I also appreciate all that the March of Dimes has done to help women carry babies to term. Looking at my healthy little guy just fills my heart with gratitude. Especially in light of the fact that I have constant reminders of what the alternative can do...I am responsible for infection prevention in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Seeing those tiny babies, both during my pregnancy and now, makes me realize that we have a long way to go. Look at that expression of joy! Josh's second favorite pastime (second only to terrorizing Otis) is eating!

Josh is crawling!

Lock up your dog toys, Josh is on the move! It's not the fluid all fours crawl yet, but he gets around pretty quickly using the army crawl. And his main purpose for crawling is trying to touch Otis or grabbing Otis' toys to shove in his mouth. Otis is not too sure about this development, but we think it's pretty cool!

6 Months

We took Josh to the pediatrician last night for his 6 month appointment. He is up to 15 pounds, 9.9 ounces (25th percentile) and 26.5 inches (50th percentile).

As I start to think about the fact that my baby is almost 6 months old, I can't help but realize just how right people are. Almost every day since I've had Josh, at least one person has told me "Enjoy this, it goes so fast". And while I knew they were right each time I heard that, recognizing what a blur the last 6 months have been really sends that message home. As much as I delight in Josh's spazziness and increased mobility, (not to mention how much I adore the sleeping through the night thing!) it's kind of sad that he'll never be that little baby again that he once was.

Anyway, I'll stop whining. Here are a couple recent pics of my little darling.

Humor us

Forgive us for getting way too much enjoyment out of our dog.  Until Josh came along, Otis was the absolute center of our world, and we realize what a sad statement that is.  

Anyway, welcome to our blog.  Our main goal here is to occasionally update on our boy's progress and post a cute photo or two.  We wish we could live close to everyone, but at least this way we can share Josh.
